Celebrating creativity,
supporting community

Artists & Makers Fair is one of the highlights of the Lewes Christmas calendar.

Hosted annually at Lewes Town Hall, it’s a chance to buy beautiful original pieces by talented local artists and makers. The whole day has a fun community feel and all funds raised go to Western Road primary school.

This year we have over 80 carefully chosen artists and makers, including dozens of first-time stallholders. It’s a trove of gorgeous gifts, artworks and homewares - you’re sure to find something you love.

While you explore, we’ll be keeping kids entertained from 10am on the day. Volunteers will be helping children of all ages create some Christmas crafts so just pop over to the Craft area.

The café will be serving up warming winter treats to keep you nourished throughout the day. Pop in from 10am for a morning coffee and pastry, and return later for a delicious lunch. Don't miss the cake... it's incredible!

Artists & Makers
Fair Ethos

All of our stallholders are professional artists and makers, each one hand-selected for their creativity and quality of work. Many take stalls because they want to help raise funds for the school - the community focus of A&M spreads far and wide!

As a community event, we want the day to be open to all. There are gorgeous items for sale at every price point, the entry fee is kept low and café prices are reasonable, with baked goods made by parents at the school.

Artists & Makers
Fair History

Artists & Makers was set up in 2003 by a Western Road parent and local artist who wanted to raise money for arts in the school. We’ve gone from strength to strength ever since, now occupying a prominent place in the Lewes social calendar.

Artists & Makers Fair continues to be organised by a small dedicated group of Western Road volunteer parents and all proceeds from the day go to supporting art and other projects at the school.
